Terms of Service

ChronoContacts for iOS and Android. Last updated 9 August 2026.

These terms are an agreement between you and Prodevel Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom (company number 11202535, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ), referred to below as “we” and “us”. They cover the ChronoContacts mobile app and this website. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

How we handle data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Using the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use ChronoContacts on devices you own or control, for as long as these terms are in force. The app and its content remain ours.

You agree not to:

  • resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows that despite this restriction;
  • work around the trial, the subscription check, or any other technical limit;
  • use it to break the law or to interfere with anyone else’s rights.

Your device and your contacts

You are responsible for your device and for your address book. ChronoContacts writes to your device’s contacts store when you add, edit or delete a contact in the app, and a note you write is saved to that contact. Those are real changes to your address book, and they behave exactly as they would if you had made them in your phone’s built-in Contacts app.

Because we keep no copy of your data, we cannot recover it for you. Keep your device backups switched on.

What is free

Browsing your contacts, searching them, adding, editing and deleting them, the four standard sort views (added newest, added oldest, name A→Z, name Z→A) and all five colour themes are free, with no account and no time limit. We intend to keep them free.

ChronoContacts Pro

A ChronoContacts Pro subscription covers:

  • tags;
  • the eight advanced sort views (last edited, last viewed, last time you reached out, and device edits, each newest or oldest first);
  • anniversary reminders;
  • custom theme colours and fonts.
  • Free trial. Pro starts with a 7-day free trial, which begins when you first open the app. No card is needed to start it.
  • Price. £3.99 a month or £24.99 a year, charged by the store you installed from, in the currency and at the local price that store shows you.
  • Renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel first.

Billing, cancellation and refunds

Payment is taken by Apple’s App Store or Google Play under your existing store account. We never see or collect your card details, and we cannot take a payment, change a price for you, or issue a refund ourselves.

  • Cancelling. Cancel at any time in your store’s subscription settings, not in the app, because we do not control the billing. Both stores need at least 24 hours’ notice, so cancel more than a day before the trial or the current period ends and you are not charged for the next one.
  • Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy. Tell us if something went wrong and we will help where we can, but the decision is the store’s.
  • Price changes. If a price changes, the store notifies you before it takes effect and you can cancel.

Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including any right to cancel a purchase under consumer law.

When Pro ends

Nothing is deleted. Tags, the advanced sort views, anniversary reminders and custom themes stop working. Your contacts, added-on dates, tags and places all stay where they are, and the free features keep working as before. Subscribe again and the Pro features come back with your data intact.

Availability and changes to the app

We may update the app, change how features work, or stop distributing it. We will not remove a paid feature during a billing period you have already paid for without offering you a way out. If we stop distributing the app altogether, we will stop taking new payments, let any period you have already paid for run to its end, and leave the version on your device working for as long as your operating system supports it.

Disclaimer

The app is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the added-on dates it records are a complete or accurate record of when you met anyone. Where your phone cannot supply a real date, the app records the first time it saw the contact, and place labels come from your phone’s own geocoding service and can be wrong or missing. Do not rely on the app as your only record of anything that matters.

If you are a consumer, this does not affect your legal right to digital content that is of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that was not foreseeable, for loss of profit or business, or for data you lose from your device. Our total liability to you for any claim connected with the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim arose.

If you installed from the App Store

Apple requires the following, and it applies in addition to everything above.

  • This agreement is between you and us. Apple is not a party to it.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for the app. Support questions go to chronocontacts@prodevel.co.uk.
  • If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for handling any claim that the app or your use of it infringes someone’s intellectual property, breaches a product liability rule, or fails to comply with a legal requirement.
  • You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US embargo or listed as a prohibited party, as Apple’s terms require.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

If you installed from Google Play

Google Play’s own terms of service apply to your purchase alongside these terms. Google is not a party to this agreement and provides no support for the app.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material we will say so in the app or on this site before it takes effect, and the date at the top always reflects the current version. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

Ending this agreement

You can end it at any time by deleting the app, though you will still need to cancel any subscription with your store. We may end it if you seriously break these terms. Ending it does not by itself remove data from your device or cancel a subscription.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes may be brought in its courts. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings there.
